day five: rilke & the written word
Had a great conversation with a friend today about the importance of waiting. Most of the time, I think of waiting as a tedious noun rather than an active verb. I get caught up in the swirl of questions — What should I do now? Why isn’t something happening? What should I be DOING??
Why is it so hard to recognise that sometimes the answer might be: waiting? Perhaps even, most of the time. Things take time; everything can’t happen all at once. It may be trite, but it’s true.
I want to learn to see the beauty of waiting.
